Shopping in Paris

20 Apr

Paris is amazing, there are no two ways about it.  One of the best things we did on our recent trip was to visit the enormous flea market called Les Puces (literally, The Fleas).   To call it a flea market is a bit unfair, it wasn’t like the stateside Reeb0k-bonanzas I’ve been to here.  It is a small city, with winding corridors filled with everything from tableware to huge antique farmhouse tables that would cost more to ship than my car costs.

Our dream is to be able to fly to Paris to furnish our next house strictly from Les Puces.  With an ever-so-chic French designer guiding us around and exclaiming Mon Dieu!  at each find.  (In my mind, all Parisisans exclaim Mon Dieu a lot, although we rarely heard it while there.)

We did not take nearly enough pictures, but I’m posting a few more below so you get the general sense.  Definitely don’t miss it if you are planning a trip to Paris!  Here’s a nice little writeup of the market, in case you want to go.

Congratulations on your launch! It’s very exciting to see your photos. Any activity yet? It looks like you put a lot of thought and work into this project. Good luck to both of you! Marilyn
